Scope of Application:
This equipment is suitable for primary lithium batteries and other primary batteries, as well as lithium-ion batteries used in digital electronic products such as mobile phones, laptop computers, and cameras. It is also applicable to nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), nickel-cadmium (NiCd), and lead-acid batteries used in products such as power tools, toys, and electric bicycles.
Test Purpose:
This equipment is designed in accordance with the requirements of multiple battery short-circuit test standards. As specified by the standards, the short-circuit device must meet an internal resistance range of 80 ± 20 mΩ (or ≤ 10 mΩ) in order to obtain the maximum short-circuit current required for testing. In addition, the circuit design of the short-circuit device must be capable of withstanding high-current impact. Therefore, industrial-grade DC electromagnetic contactors, full copper terminals, and internal copper busbars are adopted. The wide and thick copper busbars effectively improve heat dissipation, making the high-current short-circuit device safer, reducing equipment wear during testing, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test data.
Test Conditions:
1.Ambient temperature: 25 ± 5 °C
2.Relative humidity: 45–85 %RH
3.Atmospheric pressure: 86–106 kPa
4.No direct exposure to sunlight or other sources of radiant heat
5.No strong vibration in the surrounding environment
Compliance with Standards:
1.GB/T 31485-2015 — Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Traction Batteries for Electric Vehicles
2.GB/T 31241-2014 — Safety Requirements for Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Portable Electronic Products
3.UN 38.3 — United Nations Manual of Tests and Criteria for the Transport of Dangerous Goods
4.IEC 62133 — Safety Requirements for Secondary Cells and Batteries Containing Alkaline or Other Non-acid Electrolytes for Use in Portable Applications
5.UL 1642:2012 — Standard for Lithium Batteries
6.UL 2054:2012 — Household and Commercial Batteries
7.IEC 62281:2004 — Safety Requirements for the Transport of Lithium Primary Cells and Batteries, and Lithium-ion Cells and Batteries
