Integrated Battery Crush and Nail Penetration Tester

Application Scope:

This equipment is suitable for simulating nail penetration conditions that various types of batteries may experience during transportation and storageThe test shall be conducted at an ambient temperature of 20 °C ± 5 °C. A battery fitted with a thermocouple (with the thermocouple junction fixed to the large surface of the battery) is placed inside a fume hood. A corrosion-resistant stainless steel needle with a diameter of 2–8 mm is driven to penetrate the center of the battery’s largest surface at a speed of 10 mm/s to 40 mm/s.The penetration is maintained for an arbitrary duration while observing the test results. The battery is considered qualified if no explosion or fire occurs during the test.
