Scope of Application:
The ultraviolet sterilization chamber is used for sterilizing and disinfecting air and objects. It is widely applied in hospitals, as well as in food, tea, beverage processing and packaging equipment; food factories, cosmetics factories, dairy plants, breweries, beverage plants, bakeries, and cold storage rooms. It can also help extend product shelf life and meet relevant hygiene standards.
Operating Principle:
The germicidal wavelength range of ultraviolet (UV) light mainly lies between 200–300 nm, among which 253.7 nm has the strongest sterilization effect. When bacteria and viruses in water or air pass through the UV irradiation zone (253.7 nm wavelength), the ultraviolet light penetrates the cell membrane and nucleus of microorganisms, destroying the nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) molecular bonds. This causes the microorganisms to lose their ability to replicate or become inactive and die, thereby killing bacteria and viruses without the use of any chemical agents.UV germicidal lamps do not need to be converted into visible light. Wavelengths in the range of 100–200 nm can also achieve excellent sterilization effects. This is because cells have a specific absorption spectrum for light waves, with maximum absorption occurring in the 100–200 nm ultraviolet range. The absorbed ultraviolet energy acts directly on the cellular genetic material (DNA), producing a photochemical reaction. UV photon energy is absorbed by base pairs in DNA, causing genetic mutations that result in immediate bacterial death or the inability to reproduce, thereby achieving the purpose of sterilization.
