Application Scope:
The RCA paper tape abrasion tester is used to evaluate the abrasion resistance of surface coatings on products such as mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, CD players, automobiles, instruments, and plastic product housings. It is suitable for testing the wear resistance of electroplating layers, baked paint coatings, silkscreen printing, and pad printing finishes.
Main Application:
The RCA paper tape abrasion tester is designed for abrasion resistance testing of various surface coatings, such as electroplating, baked paint, and silkscreen printing. During the test, an unlubricated paper tape or adhesive tape is rolled and rubbed against the specimen surface. The wear performance is evaluated based on the number of cycles the coating can withstand under specified conditions.The tester operates in accordance with ASTM F2357-04, using RCA standard paper tape and applying fixed loads of 55 g, 175 g, or 275 g to the product surface. A roller of fixed diameter, driven by a constant-speed motor and equipped with a dedicated counter, is used for testing. The abrasion resistance of the product is determined by the number of cycles it can endure before failure. This tester is widely used for performance evaluation of surface coatings on mobile phones.
